This name does not refer to the Broadway play, but rather to her debut studio album, "Hello, I'm Dolly".  It shares the first five bolts with "Dixie Stampede", before taking the right fork.  The crux occurs as you start up this right fork."

This variation climbs to the left around the obvious roof.   It is very sustained and fun!About the Name:Hmmmm..... Underwire Roof is an amazing roof! "I wonder what's holding it up????" ;)

This routes ascends the face and exits LEFT into the "Baaa-llywood Alcove".  If you continue up the left margin of the alcove you are on "Dixie Stampede/Hello Dolly"About the "Baaa-llywood Practice ALCOVE":This is a great place to practice cleaning anchors or belaying from above. About the name:On July 5, 1996 the first cloned sheep was born .   Her name was Dolly.   Dolly died on February 14, 2003.

Climb steep rock using pockets. This route is not as juggy as its name might imply. It's short and stout!  

This routes ascends the face and exits RIGHT into the "Baaa-llywood Alcove".  If you continue up the left margin of the alcove you are on "No Thanks, Elvis" - See Picture. NOTE ABOUT THE RATING.  I usually avoid the "PLUS" grade.   I use it here because the holds are hard to see and may be reachy for shorter climbers.About the "Baaa-llywood Practice ALCOVE".  This is a great place to practice cleaning anchors or belaying from above. About the name:On July 5, 1996 the first cloned sheep was born .   Her name was Dolly.   Dolly died on February 14, 2003.

This is probably the easiest route on the Dollywall, but it is not a gimmie. And it may get harder if certain crucial holds break off. Climb gently and enjoy.

This route ascends the technical face slab to a steep section.  This route joins "Underwire Right" at the top.   About the name:"When Life Is Good Again" was written and recorded by Dolly Parton in May 2020.

Climb up and follow the left margin of the "Baaa-llywood Alcove", be prepared to fire the overhang/bulge and then trend right to the anchors. About the name:Elvis wanted to record Dolly Parton's No. 1 hit  "I Will Always Love You"; at first Parton was thrilled.  Ultimately, she ended up saying NO when Elvis' manager Tom Parker informed her that Elvis would need at least half the publishing rights.  Sorry Elvis!

This route skirts the right side of the huge cave and shares the first five bolts with "Hello Dolly". It then takes the left fork up to the top."

 

Don't let the wet/rotten rock in the beginning deter you from getting on this amazing route.   It ascends the steep vertical gray streak.   The first half has some wild vertical slots followed by awesome pockets higher up.   This is a must do and is well protected.

This route climbs to the right around the obvious Underwire Roof.   Do not blow the 3rd clip!  Climbs the face and traverses to the right, turn the roof and climb the beautiful corner.   Very technical and balancy.

This wall is our tribute to Dolly Parton. She is an iconic performer and a prolific songwriter, with over 3000 songs to her credit. She also has an incredible record of philanthropy.  For example, at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic she gave a million dollars to Vanderbilt University to fund research on the virus. She has also started and funded numerous scholarship programs in education and literacy for the children in her home county in Tennessee.This wall lies between dog walk and the "City Limits" wall both far to the climber’s left of the great staircase. It is a shaded area.  The base of the climbs are often wet but once you're past the first bolt the rock is clean and dry!On all the Dolly Wall routes we recommend stick clipping the first (or second) bolt.
