I had payed little attention to the book when intending to climb 'Momma Spider.'

As such, I inadvertently ignored the defining feature of it, pulling the cave and roof of the cave directly in a first attempt at this. The rock was bordering on 'disgusting' where you could protect, but better where you could get some grip...The crux was getting up into the splits above the crap gear and crap rock with a 5 meter ledge fall below me (5.10, S). Difficulty is dependent upon leg length and flexibility- hands on one side, feet on the other, press and walk up, them match a foot to the hands... I backed off from this stem above the roof when I failed to find and alternative to a crumbling hold that was fearfully dangerous to haul my weight on to get out of the stem. Down climbing was it's own adventure...This right hand climb is a 5.10 TR begging for a bagging for now, I guess.  Or just clean it before climbing it.  I didn't bother to go back to it. No name, no certain grade, since I was too chicken to finish it.  Ref: "Tastes Like Chicken"

This climb is as good, but no better than the others at the cliff. Okay moves and okay rock make this not a destination. There are a few good moves on it, but the line felt indirect as it switched features a few times along it's short length. Climb up and right on a virtual staircase of rock to just left of the "cave" at the right edge of the Spider Wall. Rather than enter the cave, bump back out left of it and into a left-facing flake that climbs up to the top of the wall.

Nice route for beginners to experience success on top rope.  You can use the slab on the left to teach beginners about trusting their shoes.

Start up Boris the Spider and about two-thirds of the way up cut right along the upper slanting crack to join Spider's Web/Poppa Spider at the top.

Essentially a minor variation but perhaps worth a spin if in the area.

Perhaps the name of this route should be changed to Crack 64? This rotue used to lie behind campsite 69, but the changing landscape in Indian Cove campground put it behind site number 64.  Note this in your book to avoid confusion.

Climb up and right on low angle rock to near the top of the formation where it becomes steeper, but no harder. The climb protects reasonably well and is a decent lead for beginners.

Descend as for the other spider routes.

First of all, this route is on "The Clump". "The Clump" is not listed in the selection. The first time I led this route it was by car headlights which was a little silly. It's in the center of the southwest face of the formation. It's steep and a bit overhanging, and requires close attention to gear placement. It's also a bit grainy so test placements.

This route starts just right of "Poppa Spider", in a shallow scoop. Climb huecos straight up.

Single bolt anchor on top.

This climb is located directly behind the picnic table in campsite 63.  The crux is about 10 feet off the ground getting into the somewhat overhanging crack.  Climb the crack, then a left slanting crack to the vertical crack to top out.  Good climb with a fun start.  Gear anchor for the top.

Not a bad route, but not a good one. CLimb all of the spider routes in an hour for a good 200' of climbing, but any individual route is too short to be fulfilling.This route starts behind the shrub as does Boris the Spider. After getting established on the wall, make some crack and face moves to go up and right into a right leaning crack system to finish at the top, right where Poppa Spider finishes. This line is pretty natural and is independant territory and moves, but it is squeezed in there.

Start up Poppa Spider to where that climb heads left, then work up and right going over a small roof, finishing in the crack above.

Not a classic by any means but perhaps the best route here.

Not exactly a "bomb", but probably not worthy of a star either.  This route is decidedly so-so.

Start up the easy face 10' left of Poppa Spider with sparce pro.  Move right into finger crack that protects fairly well with a larger nut or TCU.  Continue on up as crack goes to hands.

Gear belay.

Descend by scrambling off to climber's left.

Begin just right of Poppa Spider and climb a steep juggy face up to a right-diagonalling crack that is hand-traversed right, joining Momma Spider just below the top.

This is a nice variation if you have already set a top rope for Crack 69.  It seemed a little bit harder than the original climb, but it does not protect as well for those considering leading it.

This climb is located behind campsite 63, and starts to the left of the picnic table and right of the yucca.  Climb the face throwing in gear in the diagonal and horizontal cracks along the way.  Probably deserves a PG rating if you fall into the yucca plant.

It looked like there was an old bolt there at one time, but just the stem is hanging out, no hanger.  Gear anchor for the top.

A little boulder problem right next to Spider Wall. Not really anything to search out, but worth it if you're climbing a nearby route or camping nearby. I don't have much bouldering experience, but I'd guess it's a V1, depending on your height.

The crux is maybe 10 feet off the ground, when you have to pull from a left-leaning lie back up to jug on the left side of the crack. From there it's a couple standard moves up over the top, where you can walk off around the back.
